Updated version now available!

modContact version 1.2.5 includes minor Joomla! 2.5 compatibility fixes.

NB: Please notice the following conflict that may occur for Joomla! 2.5

  • Only one reCaptcha can be shown per page at this stage.
  • To fix simply disable modContact to not show wherever you have a com_contact page or simply disable the form for modContact for these pages.

New features in Version 1.2

  • For Joomla! 1.7 only. Use Version 1.1.1 for Joomla! 1.5
  • Add optional link to Contact's Information via the Contact's Name
  • Add language files.
  • Remove E-Mail form heading parameter. Joomla! core now generates a heading called "Contact Form".
  • Remove description Text

New feature in Version 1.1.1

  • Adds an optional link to the Contact's Information

Version 1.1 Includes the following NEW features:

  • Inherit Contact Parameters from Contact Manager
  • You can now include a Form
  • Add a custom heading for your form
  • Set custom Contact Component parameters
  • Set custom Icon parameters
  • Have control over message width and height

~ Fixed a bug Where the contact selected from the drop-down was not being shown.

Installation

  1. Simply install the module via the Extensions > Install/Uninstall menu item in Administrator.

  2. Make sure you have a Contact in the Components > Contacts > Contacts menu item in Administrator.
    - The module will raise an error if no Contact is found. You definitely don't want that to happen.

  3. Go to the Module Manager via the Extension menu item.

  4. Select modContact from the list. It should be unpublished and in the left position.

  5. In this edit mode simply Select the contact from the drop-down and add a module class suffix if you want to control the style.

  6. Enter and modify the various parameters as per your site requirements.
  7. Publish.

Styling Guide:

  1. The module generates the following ids:
    • #module-contact - Container DIV
    • #module-contact-form - Form Container DIV
    • #modContactEmailForm - ID of the form
  2. The module generates the following important classes:
    • .contact-name - Class for the Contact Name Header Text
    • .contact-form-heading - Class for the Form Header Text

See Demo in right side of this page.

Warning: This module will conflict with any module called mod_contact. It is suggested you install on a system that does not already have any mod_contact installed.

Note: Until Joomla! has a mod_contact by default this module should be safe to use.
